Forever 21's black ankle booties look so close it's screaming lawsuit from Casadei. It's even better for those who actually trek through the snow in the winter and don't want to worry about ruining a $2500.00 pair of boots. They cost a mere $32.80, so why not buy one for a friend while you're at it! You can thank me later!

Neutral Nails

The grey nail trend is back for fall 2010 and was seen on runway after runway. Chanel just recently debuted their Les Khakis de Chanel Nail Colour Collection for Vogue's fashion night out ($25 Chanel.com). These neutral colors are very similar to the changing leaves outside and are a perfect for look fall.

I went ahead and made my own version by mixing colors of polish I already have in my cabinet. Just add any left over black polish to your even older white french tip polish and voile, the perfect shade of grey. Get creative, as long as you have your basic black and white polish to mix in, you should have no problem mixing your perfect batch. I have had non stop comments on my hauteforless polish! The Embellished look is back for Fall 2010

One of this season's trends is the opposite of the other? Minimal/Classis vs. Ornate/Embelished. Confusing, I know. I like to keep things simple, so let's focus on one thing (trend) at a time. After all, this is just a fashion blog, we're not trying to do math here (unless in pertains to a sale).

The Ornate look is something we worked with a lot last season, so hang onto your figure skating ensemble and get ready to add on some additional pieces (just for kicks). However, just because the trend calls for sequins, embellishments, and other items you might see on a cruise ship patron, doesn't mean you need to spend a lot of dough! All of the items above are under $30 and will definitely luxe up the wardrobe!

I just ask that you keep in mind that unless you are trying to win a pageant or impress Paris Hilton, don't go head to toe in bedazzled wear. Tone it down with a minimal piece and/or neutral tone. Pink and sparkle are only okay when you are playing with My Little Pony and Friends.

Hold onto your army fashion pieces....you'll need them this fall!

American Idol Siobhan Magus hits the high note, but I'm not so sure about the dress?

I am not sure if it was the high note or the dress that made me pay attention to American Idol's Siobhan Magus last night, but needless to say something caught my eye (or ear). I am not an American Idol follower, however anyone who dares pay tribute to Aretha Franklin by singing one of her songs deserves a listen. She nailed the song and definitely sounded as soulful as a little white girl could possibly sound, but what about the dress???

I have to say, the dress looked amazing on her tiny little frame and she wore it well (well a lot better than the white gladiators she scooted around in). This dress is definitely a "do" for any teenster's out there, but for 18 years of age and older? I am not to sure about that. The dress is affordable none the less for $22.80 and can be found at Forever 21

The Crop Top

The Crop Top is said to be the shirt of the season! I for one, am not a fan of any mid midrif baring trend. However, I do have some solutions for those who are like me and avoid belly baring at all costs.

For one, the crop top should only be worn with higher waisted items which work in our favor ladies. Try leggings for a more casual look or a higher waisted skirt for a night out on the town. Please (for the LOVE) avoid anything too short, unless you are heading to a Whitesnake concert.

Next, try it with layers! Like the bra tops we are seeing, crop tops look fabulous with layers! Try pairing it with your boyfriend blazer or masculine jacket. You can also layer underneath the crop. Try throwing on a wife beater or camisole (depending on the look), mix it up and have some fun. After all, we're talking about a trend that will go as soon as it came.

Nautical is back again for Spring

The classic nautical look seems to make a come back this time every year. Chanel took to the high seas in their 2010 spring line, need I say more? It's a pulled together look that anyone can do on any budget! Here are some great affordable pieces that will assure first mate status!

You can't go wrong with Forever 21 sailor hot pants (right). Hemlines took a major hike this year making hot pants a major must. However, if you're looking for something with a little more coverage you can pair a nautical stripe sweater with skinny distressed white jeans like our friends at Wet Seal did.

Whether you style is sporty, classic, or trendy, the nautical style is an easy hit this spring!

Toughen Up with this Season's Biker Look. Motorcycle Not Required!!!

One of my favorite fall look's is the rough and tough biker babe trend. From ripped jeans to bomber jackets to motorcycle boots, you just have so much to play with. However, I must advise that unless you actually own a Harley or ride as ‘biker bitch’, you need to refrain from dressing in head to toe motorcycle apparel. To prevent yourself from going hog’ wild (sorry I couldn't help myself), think 40% tea party, 60% biker bar or vice versus.

Alexander McQueen conquered the biker look this fall and I absolutely adore the black leather Mongolia fur-trim biker jacket (above right, $5,995 at Neiman Marcus). However, if you are anything like me that is not only way out of your price range, but also not very PETA/earth friendly.
So why not hit up your local Nordstrom's for a wallet/weather friendly bomber jacket for only $58 (above left).

As you know, I absolutely LOVE designer lines that are hitting every store from Target to Walmart. It allows the fashion conscious women to purchase lust worthy apparel that the average person can afford.

Following the trend, People’s Liberation recently joined forces with Charlotte Russe. After obsessing and loving the designs online, I decided to check out the new wallet friendly line in person. After all, there is nothing worse than waiting for that online order only to open the box and find out the haute little number ain't nothin' like you thought.

Let me just say, I was more than impressed. People's Liberation not only kept their style, but the quality of clothing is exactly what you would expect to find at boutique retailers. The active wear reminded me of something I would pay more than $200 for at Nordstrom's. You really need to check out all the styles as there is an abundance. The news hasn't quite sank in yet. Michael Jackson, dead at age 50. We have seen the rise and fall of 'Wacko Jacko', as he was known to many. The scandals, the freakish transformations, the elaborate costumes and stunts. Was he indeed the child molester he was accused of time and time again, or simply a victim of fame and publicity?

Michael was not only a music icon, but a fashion icon as well. The white glove that he was known for auctioned for over $250k on E-Bay. Gloves aren't really the trend right now, but I have a feeling we will see some popping up around town for the next week or so. Your best bet is to bedazzle one yourself or get some trendy raver-esqe gloves at Hot Topic (seen above).

I would like to take this time to thank Lauren Conrad. No, I do not watch the Hills or do I know really anything about Lauren. However, Ms. Conrad definitely had some influence with the V-neck trend that we are now seeing. I mean, who doesn't love being able to simply throw on a v-neck, skinny jeans, a pair of wayfarers, and be ready to go. You can also dress it up like I did today when I wore my v-neck tee paired with a high waisted skirt and some fun heels. So easy, so affordable, and just haute all around. So thank you Lauren Conrad, we owe ya for this one!

You can never go wrong with American Apparel which has an array of v-necks ranging from $18 - $25 each. My personal favorite v-necks are from Target and for only $8 you might as well buy one in every color!

Just in case you haven't noticed yet, colored, 80's inspired sunglasses are all the rage this summer. White frames seem to be a favorite of Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton who are seen here wearing Ray Ban frames. While Rihanna has been rocking every sunglass color and style available, seen here in AM Eyewear. Think Tom Cruise in Risky Business, or Andy Warhol when shopping and you can't go wrong!

Fashion's Must Have Summer Accessory - The Panama Hat

In my recent search to replace my trusty go to Panama Hat that I lost in Bermuda I ran across some insanely expensive prices. $320 for a hat made of straw is a little steep for me. The Panama Hat and light weight Fedora is still the must have spring accessory. With this is mind, I thought I would provide some less costly alternatives.

www.shopstyle.com and www.amazon.com both had good selections of Fedora's that were reasonably priced. For those of you who are a little nervous and want to try the trend on before buying, cruise on down to your local Target, Nordstrom, and/or Charlotte Russe.

The best deal I found was at NY and Company. This hat is a Panama/Fordora hybrid if you will (above). The hat is on sale for $5.98 which is pretty much as good as it's going to get.

Now a dress that only costs $10.50 would leave anyone a little weary. After all, no one wants to actually look like they are wearing a dress that cost $10.50 or anything remotely close to that. However, I own the dress in purple and the material is great. It's very flattering, forgiving, and sexy all at the same time. I have worn it as a dress and also as a shirt, so it's definitely more versatile than what you would get with Nicole Miller's satin number. Just an idea since we are all trying to save a buck!

It was love at first sight. A lil bit of bedazzle and lil bit of rock n roll! Balmain's stud and diamanté suede power sandals made me believer in love again. Bad news first, even if you have the $2300.00 to throw down for a pair of the power sandals you are going to have a hard time finding them in stock! Which throws out the chance of finding these ‘haute’ shoes on sale.

Rihanna, Fergie Ferg, and other starlets have been sporting the J Brand duds around town and in the clubs proving you can dress them down or up (just change shoes).

Another trend that is sure to stick around until fall is the Safari Jacket. The belted jacket is neutral and versatile. Which means it goes great with any statement pieces. I love wearing mine with anything neon or paired with a full skirt or floral dress. Similar to the trusted trench, the safari jacket is a no regret purchase that you will default to time and time again. Here are some splurges and some steals!

Sexy. Confident. Owns the room. These are just a couple of words/phrases that come to mind when you mention designer, Herve Leger. Other words that come to mind; Bandage, Band Aid, Bondage, you get the idea. When I first saw the new Yves Saint Lauren Cage booty that debuted this spring, it was love at first sight. A new, sleeker version of the gladiator, what could be better!?! However, costing around $1k, they are not part of the recessionista budget plan! I knew somethings gotta give and it did!

While shopping at the Miracle Mile shops in Las Vegas in March, I ran across a hot pair of YSL look alike's. The best part? The cost for these babies......less than $100 (above)!!!!! The Luchiny Birdcage Sandal is where it's yo! These sandals are as dominatrix as sandals can get!
